The rudder kit comes with all the parts you need to install it and detailed instructions including the tools you'll need. The installation should take between 15 and 30 minutes depending on your comfort level with basic hand tools. Holes are not predrilled. There are 4 holes needed to install the steering lines, the locations of which are easy to see and require no measuring. There is one surface mounted loop that requires a measurement to locate.
The rudder is removed by disconnecting carabiners that connect the lines and pulling an “R” clip to remove the rudder, no tools are needed. The additional time required to attach or remove the rudder during assembly/disassembly of the boat is 15 to 30 seconds.
